Component Suppliers & Investors Support
Background
The Component Supplier and Investment Support Unit (CSISU) is a core business unit of the Automotive Industry Development Centre – Eastern Cape (AIDC‑EC).
The unit plays a strategic role in strengthening the province’s automotive and advanced manufacturing ecosystem by supporting component suppliers, crowding in investment, and advancing black industrial participation.
Our work directly contributes to job retention, supplier competitiveness, transformation, localisation, and investment pipeline development, in line with national industrial policy and the Eastern Cape’s Automotive Masterplan.

The Supplier Competitiveness programme directly responds to the objectives of the South African Automotive Masterplan 2035 by strengthening the capability of local component suppliers to compete in both domestic and global automotive value chain.

Automotive Investment Promotion
The business unit drives automotive investment in South Africa by positioning the Eastern Cape as a globally competitive destination aligned to SAAM 2035 objectives. It focuses on attracting foreign direct investment and supporting domestic expansion within the Eastern Cape automotive sector.
Through coordinated stakeholder engagement, streamlined processes, and tailored investor support, the unit enhances ease of doing business and accelerates project implementation. Dedicated aftercare services strengthen investor retention and expansion.
